The First Stride is the first learn-to-play hockey program of it's kind in Western, NY. Designed around the guidelines of USA Hockey's ADM Model, which creates a fun, relaxed relaxed learning environment for participants to learn the fundamental skills of ice hockey. 

What makes this program stick out is that it is 100% FREE for first time participants and includes a complimentary free starter hockey kit valued at $300 that you get to keep! This program is limited to 30 participants per class and with only 4 classes available we suggest that you register for the program as it becomes available. 

The non-competitive and positive atmosphere not only makes a child’s first experience with hockey positive, but also creates an environment in which they can excel.  Participants will not only learn the skills and game of ice hockey, but will also develop self-esteem and self-confidence.  The program operates under the premise that if a player's introduction to the sport is positive, they will develop a lifetime love of the game

• Ages 4-6
• Each session meets once per week for 8 weeks
• Participants will gear up in full equipment for the first time, taking the ice as a real hockey player
• Hit ice where they are broken into groups based on skill level
• Learn to ice skate and other hockey specific drills
• Instruction is provided by top local coaches and athletes from professional, collegiate/scholastic, and youth hockey organizations.
• Group photo on the ice at the end of the session
• Each child receives a packet with items such as free public skating passes, discounted tickets to a pro hockey game, nutritional information and more.
