The Iceplex Broomball League
The Iceplex Broomball League (IBL) is Rochester's coolest adult recreational sports league, jam packed with fun on the ice. Broomball is a cross between ice hockey and soccer, is played on ice (with shoes) and requires no experience to get started. Players use a broom shaped stick, and instead of a hockey puck, the game is played with a large ball. We offer a co-ed/rec division at this time, so the league is something that anyone can play!
Over the course of the calendar year, the IBL offers multiple Try Broomball For Free events that are open to the public. These are a great opportunities for people to give the game a try in a positive, fun environment. Equipment and instruction is provided at each of these events so all participants can get a solid understanding and feel for the game. The IBL can accommodate individuals and large groups of people that want to attend, so these are truly open to all.
