Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex and Iceplex Adult Hockey League offer multiple player development opportunities for adult players looking to improve their skills. These sessions take place on various week nights and are in a 'drop in' format (players can attend one or many sessions, paying in advance for a ticket to any and all sessions they wish to attend). These run in two separate class options--Skill Development, and Power Skating. Each class is 50 minutes in length, is limited in size, and provides for much one-on-one feedback from the on-ice instructors
Skill Development are uptempo practices are for players looking to improve their playing skills (shooting, stick handling, etc.), as well as their game knowledge. Session content is composed based on the needs of the participants, with the ability to focus not only on individual playing skills, but team skills in a scrimmage format.
Power Skatingis the practice of skating techniques for hockey players, centered around breaking down all components of the skating stride. By breaking down each component (to perfection), and through the repetition of a series of on-ice drills, players can see dramatic increases in stride efficiency, power, and speed. Skating skills are the fundamental building block for a players overall hockey skills - period. Mastering the various skating techniques will give hockey players the ability to enhance all of their other skills, if you can’t skate you can’t play! It doesn’t matter if you're new to the game or a professional, there is always room for improvement, which is why the pros incorporate power skating into their regular practice regime.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, our operational model has been adjusted in many capacities. Walk-in purchases for all Skate & Shoot sessions are no longer permitted, and all participants MUST purchase admission in advance (through the button below). Any walk-in customers will not be permitted entry to the facility. Upon entry, all participants must check-in at the front desk of the Iceplex, where you must have a printed ticket, or a digital ticket (on a handheld device) which will then be scanned for entry. Social distancing must be adhered to while on the ice, however if that is difficult (due to the nature of the sport), masks must be worn while on the ice. Many other new facility-wide protocols are now in place, and can be viewed online by clicking here. Prior to arrival to the Iceplex, please make yourself familiar with these new protocols, as it is crucial for all guests to have an understanding of these policies that ensure a safe experience for all of our guests, staff, and visitors.
Based on demand, additional sessions may be added on a regular basis, so please check back often if you have encountered any 'sold out' sessions when attempting to purchase a ticket. All sales are final. Session transfer requests can be accommodated, only if made prior to 48 hours prior to the session for which a ticket is purchased for.
